Lemon and thyme roasted chicken by sorted

So I decided that today it was the perfrect day for something different. So I thought why not a recipe from my favourite youtube channel for food : sorted http://sortedfood.com/#!/recipes/roastchicken/
Anyway I decided to do the lemon and thyme roasted chicken, the puree that goes with it and the sauce. The last one wasn't really nice but the chicken and the puree was pretty good.
I am not going to describe the process just cause there is already a video of it but what I will show is the result.

a quick snack

I was feeling pretty bad the last week...
Diagnosis : homesick
Cure : Spent time with family
So I was home and feeling kind of hungry and cereals with milk were available so I found some dry raspberries and made myself a quick tasty sweet -but not sweet- snack.

Tasty salad

Sooo since I've been eating no salad for quite a while ( and mum kept on pushing me) I decided to make a salad today which I actually got inspired after one vlog that I saw on you tube by The Grid Monster and it sounded so delicious I had to try it.
My ingredients are cherry tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, basil, some olive oil, oregano and croutons.
So the steps were really easy I actually cut on half the cherry tomatoes, after which I diced the mozzarella cheese. Last I chopped the basil mixed everything together and pour some olive oil, oregano and croutons over it.

And it really was tasty. So tasty that I will be probably making an new version of it soon. :)
Oh and I just remembered my mother has started her own blog so if you like hand crafts check it out

matriciana

Today's meal was something...
I never was really into cooking mostly into eating :P but as soon as me and Mike decided we should start making food a whole new world opened up to me. Matriciana was one of those recipes that I really enjoyed both during the making of it as well as during the eating of it :)
Anyway first of all we gathered everything we needed soo salt, pepper, basil, oregano, wine (we prefer rose wine), tomato sauce, grated chesse (optional), half chopped onion, chopped bacon (four stripes) and pasta of course.

So we heated the oil and as soon as it was hot enough we put the chopped onions in until they had a nice golden color. When that occured we put the bacon in and left it for about three minutes on medium to light fire and then poured in the wine and left until the scent of the wine was no detectfull. Lastly we poured in the tomato sauce along with the salt, the pepper, the oregano and the basil. Here's some photos :

Olis-is-a-foody

Hello everyone this is my first post on this blog. I thought since I liked food and since I'm now beginning to get along with cooking so you could get to see me while I am progressing from zero to a non-zero state. So I've been cooking for not over  a month now and actually every time I cook I do it with my boyfriend Michael. So I do have help but he is as experienced as I am so...
But without further redo here comes the today's meal : curry sauce with chicken and rice and for dessert we played safe and decided to get the betty crocker devil's food.
So for the devil's food I used the mix that came in the box, 125ml water, 70ml oil and 3 eggs as the box inticated.

So I (following the intructions at the back of the box) beated for about 3 minute, the powder mix, the water, the eggs and the oil (I used olive oil because that was what I had although the original recipe was to be made with vegetable oil).

After that I poured the mix in a one-use form and baked it in the oven for about 45 minutes since the 28 that the recipe at the box indicated wasn't enough.

This was result:

After letting it cool a little bit we sliced the whole cake with a knife in the middle and filled it with "rich and creamy icing" from the same company.

And last but definately not least we covered the top of the cake with the rest of the icing :

And that was the short and not so exciting story of our chocolate cake.

As it comes to the curry sauce with chicken along with the rice we used uncle Ben's rice 10' ready and for the sauce : chicken breast, rose wine, cream, edam and pecorino chesse, half an onion, pepper, salt, curry, oregano and basil which doesn't excist in the picture.

This is about how much chesse we used

Firstly we poured the olive oil in the sauce pan and as soon as it was hot we poured the chopped onions in.
When the onions had a nice golden color we added the chicken breast in small cubes with some salt and pepper.

As soon as we made sure there was no red flesh to be seen we added a little bit of wine.
When the smell of the wine was mostly gone we added a little bit of hot, boiling water and a few minutes after some curry and oregano.

When we were sure that the flavour was right (you can only do that by actually trying out the sauce) we poured in the two small boxes of cream, the grated pecorino and the cubes of edam and the basil as soon as the sauce is boiling it is ready. :)

For the rice we only put the dosed rice "bags" in the boiling water with some salt for a couple of minutes.

I will be glad to hear you have tried out the sauce or if you know a different version of it.
