Hello everyone this is my first post on this blog. I thought since I liked food and since I'm now beginning to get along with cooking so you could get to see me while I am progressing from zero to a non-zero state. So I've been cooking for not over a month now and actually every time I cook I do it with my boyfriend Michael. So I do have help but he is as experienced as I am so...
But without further redo here comes the today's meal : curry sauce with chicken and rice and for dessert we played safe and decided to get the betty crocker devil's food.
So for the devil's food I used the mix that came in the box, 125ml water, 70ml oil and 3 eggs as the box inticated.
So I (following the intructions at the back of the box) beated for about 3 minute, the powder mix, the water, the eggs and the oil (I used olive oil because that was what I had although the original recipe was to be made with vegetable oil).
After that I poured the mix in a one-use form and baked it in the oven for about 45 minutes since the 28 that the recipe at the box indicated wasn't enough.
This was result:
After letting it cool a little bit we sliced the whole cake with a knife in the middle and filled it with "rich and creamy icing" from the same company.
And that was the short and not so exciting story of our chocolate cake.
As it comes to the curry sauce with chicken along with the rice we used uncle Ben's rice 10' ready and for the sauce : chicken breast, rose wine, cream, edam and pecorino chesse, half an onion, pepper, salt, curry, oregano and basil which doesn't excist in the picture.
This is about how much chesse we used
Firstly we poured the olive oil in the sauce pan and as soon as it was hot we poured the chopped onions in.
When the onions had a nice golden color we added the chicken breast in small cubes with some salt and pepper.
As soon as we made sure there was no red flesh to be seen we added a little bit of wine.
When the smell of the wine was mostly gone we added a little bit of hot, boiling water and a few minutes after some curry and oregano.
When we were sure that the flavour was right (you can only do that by actually trying out the sauce) we poured in the two small boxes of cream, the grated pecorino and the cubes of edam and the basil as soon as the sauce is boiling it is ready. :)
For the rice we only put the dosed rice "bags" in the boiling water with some salt for a couple of minutes.
I will be glad to hear you have tried out the sauce or if you know a different version of it.
